PSR Solicitors of Wrexham successfully obtained over £3,600.00 for a client who slipped whilst shopping in an Aldi store.
Our client was shopping in a local Aldi store when she slipped on a liquid that had been spilled on the floor and not cleared. As a result of the fall, she suffered an injury to her head and knee which necessitated a visit to Accident and Emergency.
PSR Solicitors put it to the Defendant that they had been negligent for failing to keep the floor free from hazards, failing to have in place an adequate cleaning system, failing to risk assess etc. In addition, it was alleged that the Defendant was in breach of statutory duty, namely failure to keep our client safe whilst she was a lawful visitor at their store as per the Occupiers Liability Act 1957.
The Defendant swiftly admitted liability for the accident following which PSR Solicitors arranged for our client to be examined by a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon. This particular expert was local to our client and specialises in knee injuries thus being the perfect choice of expert in this case. The medical expert provided a prognosis in relation to the head injury and knee injury and our client was happy with the same.
Once our client approved the medical report we then valued her claim with reference to the Judicial College Guidelines.
