Local House Price Trends

Caernarfon is fortunate to have an extremely diverse range of available properties, from large detached houses to flats and bungalows. From impressive period family homes along Caernarfon Road, many with stunning views over the Menai Straits towards Anglesey, to substantial 4-bedroom properties close to the town centre in LL55, detached homes are available from £275,000. Constantine Road offers a number of beautiful semi-detached houses within easy walking distance to the centre of town, while some of the most impressive properties in the area are situated in the modern Doc Fictoria development on the banks of the Menai Strait. According to Rightmove estimates, the average house price in Caernarfon was £208,755 in March 2023. Detached properties fetched an average price of £338,650, while semi-detached houses sold for an average of £219,628. Terraced properties were the majority of sales in Caernarfon in 2022-2023, going for an average of £145,982, while flats, including those in the exclusive, modern water development, sold for an average of £82,500.

In addition, Caernarfon is also home to the Segontium Roman Fort and the Grade II listed quarryman's cottage Cae’r Gors, which was home to renowned Welsh author Kate Roberts.

Caernarfon and the surrounding area offer lots of options for enjoying the outdoors, including the Wales Coast Path, providing 180 miles of hugely varied landscape. Part of a multi-million-pound development, the Welsh Highland Railway’s new station opened in Caernarfon in 2019 and includes a new exhibition space and café. The railway itself runs for 25 miles from Caernarfon, through the foothills of Snowdonia, taking in some of the most picturesque villages in Britain.

The Galeri is one of the most ambitious and significant cultural developments in recent Welsh history. The extension in 2018 added two new dedicated cinema screens, which bring the latest film releases to Caernarfon, as well as a new workshop/creative space, exhibition area and state-of-the-art meeting room.
