PSR Solicitors in Shotton has successfully claimed personal injury compensation on behalf of a client, securing £42,5000 for a serious injury to his index finger.
Our client suffered a serious hand injury as a result of an accident at work. He had been asked to operate a meat cutting machine in a restaurant kitchen but had received no training. His hand came into contact with a moving part of the machine, resulting in a deep, severe laceration to his index finger. Despite medical treatment, he was left with ongoing symptoms including significant pain and reduced function to his hand. As a consequence of these injuries, he has been unable to return to work and has suffered some psychological symptoms.
The client instructed us in January 2019. We pursued a claim against the client’s employer and obtained an admission of liability, albeit they also tried to argue that he was partly at fault himself.
Liability having been admitted, we then set about obtaining medical reports to submit as evidence in support of our client’s case. We also arranged appropriate medical treatment for our client in the form of hand therapy and some counselling to deal with the psychological effects of the injury.
Once the client’s injuries had settled we began negotiating a settlement. This concluded with compensation for the client in the total sum of £42,500.
This settlement allowed our client to continue to receive the medical treatment he required and compensated him for the pain and suffering endured and the financial losses suffered.
